Lucy tried yoga after completing the London Marathon (a long time ago) as she desperately needed to stretch her limbs. She went to a yoga class and loved it. She loved the therapeutic effect yoga asana can have on the body. She tried different styles of yoga but didn’t find one that truly resonated with her until she moved to Bristol in 2006 and found Yogawest.
Her first experience of Iyengar Yoga was a Yogawest pregnancy class. After having her two daughters she became a regular class attendee. “I like the fact that Iyenger yoga builds strength and stamina through mindful action and good alignment. I always feel good after a class: energised, revitalised and restored.”
Lucy soon became inspired to continue her yoga journey and become a yoga teacher. She trained with Sheila Haswell and completed Introductory level 2 in June 2017.
Lucy is also a part time primary school teacher. She enjoys teaching yoga to adults and children.
