Lydia has been practising yoga since she was 19. She discovered Iyengar Yoga at Manchester University after travelling in India. Lydia’s first teacher Marion Kilburn was inspirational and after her first few classes it became clear that yoga was what she wanted to do with her life. Lydia met Edgar at University and did their teacher training at MDIIY with Jeanne Maslen and Tricia Booth, becoming yoga teachers in 1997. Together Lydia and Edgar run Yogatree teaching classes in Wiltshire.
Lydia’s teacher is Judi Sweeting and she goes to Pune regularly to study with the Iyengar family. She trained with Penny Chaplin and passed her Senior level 3 in 2015.
Lydia lives in a beautiful village in Wiltshire with Edgar and her two children. She is also a carer for a man with learning difficulties. She loves to spend time outdoors, walking, cycling and cooking her home grown vegetables.
Lydia loves yoga and says she feels ill if she misses her practise. “I am grateful to Guruji, Geetaji and Prashantji for all the wisdom they have passed on through their dedicated understanding and zealous practice of yoga. I am always thankful for the peace, love and well-being yoga has brought into my life.”
Lydia teaches at Yogawest on Wednesday evenings: 5.30>7pm (General), 7.15>8.45pm (Intermediate) and also assists Sheila Haswell with the Yogawest Teacher Training programme.
