We welcome the wonderful Bobby Clennell back to Yogawest on May 5-7th, 2017

We are delighted to welcome back author, illustrator and Senior teacher Bobby Clennell, back to Yogawest to teach a three day workshop.

Bobby was last at Yogawest in 2015 and many of you have been asking when she’s coming back!

Friday morning is for experienced students and teachers, Friday afternoon a special ropes workshop, and the weekend is suitable for all.

Friday May 5th

Morning Session: Working towards Dropbacks
Learn a step-by-step approach to practising dropbacks. After preparing the body using props and ropes, we will begin by dropping back to the wall from standing and progress to dropping back from Sirsasana.

** Students should be able to practice free-standing Sirsasana and push up from the floor into Urdhva Dhanurasana.

Afternoon Session: Working with Wall Ropes
Working with wall ropes will help you perfect your alignment, increase your length and improve mobility in the joints as the body is allowed to move beyond the range of its everyday motions.

Level Not suitable for complete beginners, but anyone with at least one year experience will be taken care of.

ELEMENTS and KOSHAS
According to yogic principles, everything in the universe, including our body, is made up of five subtle elements: earth, water, fire, air and ether (space).
Our own beings also comprise five “sheaths” or koshas; Annamaya Kosha, Pranamaya Kosha, Manomaya Kosha, Vignanomaya Kosha and Anandamaya Kosha. In these two days, through a variety of asana and pranayama, we will explore and bring into balance our own unique expression of these forces. We will also learn where the koshas and elements meet and how these intersections inform our practice.

You can come to one or both days.

Bobby Clennell

Bobby has been a direct student of B.K.S. Iyengar and Geeta Iyengar for over 40 years and is a senior teacher at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of New York. She is the author and illustrator of two books, The Woman’s Yoga Book and Watch Me Do Yoga. Bobby’s teaching style is strong, energetic, precise and kind.

Bobby is also the creator of “Yoga Yantra”, a short animated film, based on the movements of B.K.S. Iyengar during his own yoga practice. For more information: www.bobbyclennell.com.
