If you are interested in finding out more about yoga theory and philosophy this informal study group may be of interest to you. Our aim will be to understand our modern-day yoga practices in the context of traditional teachings. The sessions will be text-based and will consist of reading, reflection and explanation.
Dates for 2010 are: 26 March, 30 April, 11 June, 16 July, 22 October and 26 November. All sessions are on Friday at 7.00pm until 8.30pm. You can arrive any time after 6.30 and tea will be available. The subject matter of these sessions will be a systematic reading and study of the Yoga Sutra. The key texts will be BKS Iyengar's Light on the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali and Edwin F Bryant's the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
There is no charge for the meetings but there will be a small cost for any photocopied materials which may be provided on the day.The group is open to anyone practising yoga. Ongoing attendance at the group is advisable, but there is no obligation to come to all the sessions.
