Lost Property

You might be surprised at some of the things that people leave behind at Yogawest. Luckily, most things are remembered and collected… but some aren’t and we’d love them to be reunited with their owners.

So here is a selection of items left in the last few weeks – perhaps you might recognise something you’ve lost? Do drop in and collect it soon – it’s in a green bag on the pegs in the cloakroom. We take uncollected lost property to our favourite charity shop Tenovus on the Gloucester Road every few months, so don’t delay!

Yogacard Prize Winner

Happy New You Event Winner

We gave away a Yogacard-6 as a raffle prize at last night’s Athena ‘Happy New You’ event in aid of the British Heart Foundation at The Square Club in Berkeley Square.

The lucky winner is Nicola Berry and we are thrilled to find that she has done yoga in the past and is looking forward to getting back into it in order to balance out her daily gym work. Congratulations Nicky – we look forward to welcoming you here you soon.

Spaces Available!

Frances is teaching the next Foundation Course on Feb 20th

We have spaces available for the next Foundation Course which starts on Monday 20th February, taught by Frances, an experienced teacher who really enjoys introducing new students to the pleasures of Iyengar yoga. If you know anyone who may like to start doing yoga, do please let them know.

This is a 6-week course for complete beginners or people wanting to revisit the basics. The courses are designed to introduce you to the fundamental poses and principles of yoga practice. Courses start regularly throughout the year and must be pre-booked. Classes are one hour. If you want to start classes before the next course begins, you can come to beginners classes in the meantime.

Fancy a Quieter Class?

Some of our classes are very popular, and get quite busy. Which makes for a great atmosphere in class: our studios are big enough to still have plenty of room and many Yogawest regulars enjoy larger classes.

However, there are some classes on the timetable that are smaller which suit some students better, especially if you’d like more personal attention.

If you’d like to find a quieter class, here are some ideas:

Beginners/General
Tuesday 9.10am
Tuesday 6.10pm
Wednesday 7.30am
Wednesday 9.15am
Friday 6pm

Intermediate
Tuesday  8pm
Wednesday 6.10pm
Thursday 8pm

Uday’s here in February

Uday Bhosale is teaching 3 workshops at Yogawest over the weekend of 18th Feb.
[And he’s also here for an extra teacher’s day on Friday 17th.]

Another opportunity to experience being taught by Uday Bhosale who usually teaches at the institute in Pune and is in the UK for a few months. Uday is teaching 3 weekend workshops at Yogawest this weekend: a good way to fend off Winter! All levels are welcome, and Uday is particularly keen that beginners come too, although we recommend you have done Iyengar yoga regularly for at least 6 months.

If you are only doing one workshop, Uday suggests it’s the first one as each will build on the last, however if this is not possible, he’s happy for you to attend when you can.

Sat 18th Feb 10.30–1.30
Sat 18th Feb 2.30–5
and Sun 19th Feb 10.30–1.30

Cost £30 per workshop or £75 for all 3 (£70 for AIYI members)
