February Free Class Offer

Knowing as we all do how good yoga is for your heart, to celebrate the month of love, we’d love you to give a free yoga class to someone you love who hasn’t yet been to Yogawest: perhaps a family member, neighbour or friend?

The free class is valid between February 14th and March 14th and is for any beginner or general class on the timetable.

We would recommend that you suggest a quieter class for their first visit, for example Tuesday 9.10am, Wednesday 8am or 9.15am, or Thursday 6.10pm, or our new Friday morning class (starts Mar 2nd), and do ask them to let the teacher know they are new.

To claim your free class gift, email us and let us know the name of the person you’d like to give a class to and we’ll email you a voucher, or ask us for a Valentine’s heart at reception.

This offer is exclusive to our Newsletter subscribers.

Message to our Twitter followers
if you haven’t yet been to Yogawest, you can give this gift to yourself: email us with your Twitter name and we’ll email you your voucher.

New classes

We’ve identified a couple of holes in the timetable and by popular demand are adding 3 new classes: one on Friday morning (General), one on Monday evening (General) and a Family Class on Sunday mornings.

Many of you have asked if there is a ‘linking’ class between beginner and intermediate level. All general classes are suitable for learning more complex poses, and the Monday evening class is particularly geared with that in mind.

Friday mornings 10.30–12

From March 2nd.
A general level class suitable for all levels including beginners and improvers, taught by Andrea Ferencikova.

Monday evenings 7.15–8.45

From April 2nd.
A class with the improving student in mind: an opportunity to learn some new poses to prepare you to attend intermediate classes. Taught by Andrea Ferencikova.
NB no class on Apr 9th.

Yogawest in the Press

Article in The Evening Post 28th Jan

We were featured in the Bristol Evening Post last week. Suzanne Saville came to Yogawest to interview us and Artur Lesniak took some lovely photos on a Sunday morning. Pumpkin our campervan stole the show as the story was written on the theme of Cinderella. We enjoyed reading it and are pleased that it has brought some new and returning students through the door this week. Despite the cold weather outside, it’s nice and warm in the studios!

Join the AIYI!

Subs now due

Mike and I have recently joined the AIYI (Avon Iyengar Yoga Institute) committee as we think it’s a very valuable way of being part of the yoga community in the South West. We have also promised to discount all the workshops we run at Yogawest this year by £5 for AIYI members.

If you are a teacher, then there is no question: it’s well worth joining the AIYI – not only do you get the discounts off workshops, you also pay £2 less then the IYA membership, plus you get automatic IYA membership included!

And for keen non-teachers, it’s a great way of being part of the wider circle of Iyengar yoga practitioners, plus you get your IYA membership which includes 2 free magazines a year and of course the £5 discount on our workshops.
