Bon Voyage Andrea

Andrea is leaving Bristol in May to live in India. It has been a pleasure to work with Andrea and we are very sad to see her go. She will be missed by her students and the whole of the Yogawest team, and we wish her and Chaitanya the best of luck in their adventure. Andrea’s classes stay on the timetable and will be taught by other teachers (mainly Diana). Keep an eye out for the updated timetable coming soon.

Rajiv Chanchani in August

We are delighted to announce that we have booked Rajiv Chanchani to return to Yogawest on the last weekend of August 2013. This is a great opportunity to learn from a world-renowned Indian teacher.

Rajiv is a longtime student of BKS Iyengar and a director of the Yog-Ganga Centre for Yoga Studies in India. He and his wife Swati are the authors of Yoga for Children.

During the course of the weekend Rajiv will teach asanas, basics of pranayama and yoga philosophy.

Chanchani events are always sold out, so early booking essential.

Move on up in June

Have you ever thought about coming to a more advanced class than your usual one? We invite you to try out an intermediate or experienced class. More advanced classes are not necessarily much harder than the beginners and general ones; in advanced classes teachers take less time to explain the basics that you already know and work on improving your poses. A 2-hour class allows you to explore the poses more deeply, to take time and reflect on the inner journey. As you develop your yoga practise you will discover that you can work with both strength and quietness.

Come and try a more advanced class for free on Tuesdays during the month of June. There are 2 options available for your free trial: Tuesday 6-8pm (experienced) or Tuesday 8-9.30pm (intermediate). Book your class at reception or email .When you come to class just let the teacher know you are trying a higher level class and they will keep an extra eye on you.

A few places left for Bobby Clennell

Bobby Clennell is at Yogawest on May 17th, 18th and 19th. Students from around the UK are coming to Bristol to be taught by Bobby when she is here so there are only a few places left… be quick to get yours!

Bobby is a magical and inspirational teacher: amongst her books is the wonderful The Woman’s Yoga Book which she wrote and illustrated and is on every teacher’s shelf. She has spent many years working with women (and men too), and is particularly knowledgeable on working with older bodies in a safe, comfortable and pleasurable way. If there’s something you need particular help with, Bobby is sure to know how to help you.

Despite being ranked among the great senior yoga teachers of the world, Bobby is known for her calm and generous teaching style, promoting smiles throughout the room and a sense of wellbeing that lingers for days afterwards.

Although you can come to just one workshop, we highly recommend you come for at least a day (and those in the know have already booked for all 3 days!).

Summer of Love

As the seasons turn and the knitted ducks grow into tulips we are turning down the radiators in the studios and enjoying the extra flexibility that Spring brings to our bodies. There are a few places left for Bobby Clennell’s workshop in May, experienced students can come to all 3 days, and everyone is welcome for the Saturday and Sunday. If you don’t know who Bobby is, ask to see her wonderful book in our shop – one glance and you’ll want to come to the workshop! And there is a special discount if you also book for the José María Vigar and/or Rajiv Chanchani workshops later in the summer, see our Summer of Love offer.
