Luke lives in Stoke Bishop with his wife Sumita and two young daughters. He has practised Iyengar yoga for almost 20 years. He started yoga at university, trying a variety of styles, before touring round India and discovering Iyengar yoga. On his return he discovered Yogawest, which was only down the road, so a bit closer to home! He studied with Richard Ward and became an Introductory level 2 teacher in 2005. Since then he has taught regular weekly classes and started at Yogawest in Autumn 2013.
Luke says: “Introducing students to Iyengar yoga is a great honour and I love to see the transformation that can occur in pupils after only a few classes. Yoga has given me a firm foundation in my life and I hope I can pass on some of that benefit to others. No class is ever the same and I enjoy adjusting the class according to the energy and dynamics of the people present. Although I focus on the physical aspects of the poses I am always aware of the mental transition that occurs throughout a class. I am sure I get as much, if not more, out of teaching the classes as those that attend. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
Luke teaches at Yogawest on Thursday evenings: 6.15>7.30pm (Beginners),
and Saturday mornings: 9.15>10.45 (Intermediate) and 11>12.30 (General)
