Yoga day with Bob Phillips
Bob Phillips taught at Yogawest for many years before moving to Scotland in 2017. We are delighted that he is coming back to Yogawest in September to teach a yoga day for all his old (and young!) students that are missing him, plus new-to-Bob-ers too.
This day will be about the overall experience of practicing Iyengar yoga. While Padmasana may (rightly) be on your ‘to do list’, whether or not you can already get there, and experience of Sirsasana would be an advantage, Bob is more interested in how you feel during, and especially after, such a day. He says “Fine-tuning what we practice as individuals to produce the feeling that I, and therefore life feels good is surely a valid ambition. Likewise, we should not fear where we have not yet been…”
During the day Bob will be including one or two of the more challenging asanas: with suitable help and preparation these will be achievable. Remembering which props and how to use them for which asanas can help your practice enormously, teaching you how to relax into the harder-to-reach places. “Practice until the effort becomes effortless – from strong backward extensions to Savasana, until you achieve a unified whole.”
General: 12 months+ experience
Bob will assume a level of Iyengar yoga maturity and fitness. Those with injuries/conditions need to email Bob before booking to check this day is suitable.
