Sam Xenofou, a Yogawest student of many years, and a newly qualified Iyengar teacher (to be teaching at Yogawest from December!) has spent November in Pune studying with the Iyengar family. She emailed us some photos and said:
Just taking a moment in early morning class today. Observing young ones who can flex , older ones who can balance, others who can do it all , but as Prashantji said ” yoga is not a work – out is a work – in and postures are like a blackboard … We don’t study the blackboard but rather what’s written on it. So be more Yog rather than Yogaa …..it’s all beyond the physical….. Now that’s why I came here …. We have great physical teachers in the West but please let’s not forget what yoga really is about.
