Timetable update advance info

We are nearly ready to publish the new Autumn timetable, but thought you may like some advance info…

New Classes

There’s a new Thursday evening general class with Lizzie at 7pm, a new Intermediate class with Andrea on Sundays at 11.45, a Friday lunchtime class with Andrea at 12.30, and a new beginners class with Frances on Monday evening at 7.15. (Tamara will still teach her very popular Monday 8pm class which will become a general class).

And following the success of the pranayama course in the summer, we have added a regular pranayama course to the timetable on Wednesday evenings.

Time Changes

The early evening classes will now start at 6.15 (instead of 6.10), except on Friday which stays at 6pm.

Tamara’s Wednesday evening beginners class will start 15 mins earlier at 7.45 (until 9.15).

By popular demand Annette’s Saturday morning Intermediate class will start 15 mins later at 9.45 (until 11.15).

The Wednesday evening pregnancy class will at 6.15 until 7.30 and will now run as a course: you can book for 6 weeks in advance, although drop-in is still possible.

The Wednesday early morning class stays at it’s new time of 7.30 and is bookable as a course: we need 5 bookings to secure it will run.

Class level changes

Janet’s Monday 10.30 class and Diana’s Wednesday 10am class will become general classes. Beginners are very welcome of course: the change of name simply reflects the fact that many people in the class have been coming for a long time and are no longer beginners. Janet and Diana will continue to teach an appropriate level of yoga for the students who come and will look after new beginners.

Class name changes

At Intermediate level, instead of having Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2, we will now have Intermediate and Experienced.

Intermediate classes are suitable for students who have been coming regularly to beginner or general classes and are ready to learn asanas at a more detailed level, and to add new asanas to their practice. Your teacher can advise you if you are ready to try an Intermediate class.

Experienced classes are for students, teachers and trainees who have regularly attended Iyengar classes for more than 2 years, and are confident in maintaining a stable Sirsasana for 5 minutes and Sarvangasana for 8 minutes.
