Joanna has been practising Iyengar Yoga for 17 years. As a child she studied classical ballet, then many years later, on discovering yoga, found it brought her flexibility, poise and an ease of movement in daily life which continues to support her active lifestyle.
Having experienced how yoga transformed her life and wanting to go deeper into the practice and philosophy of Iyengar Yoga, she felt inspired to train as a teacher. Joanna studied with Sheila Haswell for 2 years at Yogawest and is now a Qualified Introductory Level 2 teacher.
Joanna says “I am passionate about the connection between body, mind and spirit and yoga allows for all three elements to come together as one. However what I love about Iyengar Yoga is that it can be practiced at whatever level and way is right for you at this moment.
Its inspiring to see students opening up to yoga in their own way. As my own exploration of yoga continues, I hope to pass on to students the profound benefits that Iyengar Yoga offers bringing the possibility of greater health and transformation into their lives.
Yoga is not a mystery; simply a practice, done regularly, that brings beneficial change to every aspect of life”
Joanna is also a Reiki Practitioner.
Joanna teaches at Yogawest on Friday afternoon: 16.00>17.15 (Beginners) and Saturday morning: 9.30>10.45 (Beginners) and regularly covers other Yogawest classes.
