Summer Timetable 2016

yogawest_2015_flowersontable_529_LRThe Summer Holiday Timetable for 2016 is here – we are open everyday over the summer but with a reduced timetable so do check the timetable before you come to class during July 23rd to end August.

This year for the first time the experienced class on Fridays at 10am is running throughout the summer.

The full timetable resumes on September 2nd.

earlymorningyoga New Early Morning Class starts June 8 and runs for 7 weeks until the summer break (June 8, 15, 22, 29, July 6, 13, 20) all are welcome. Read more here

Boys need yoga!

New teenager class starts June 6th – boys encouraged!

SONY DSCWe’ve set up a new teenager yoga class for both teenage girls and boys. Our Monday teenager class is very girl-dominant and we hope more boys may come if there is a class with more boys in it.

Teenagers tend to get very stiff in their joints and muscles and due to various lifestyle habits (sport, gaming and of course school-stress), can find it difficult to undo tension and body stress. Regular yoga practice can help to teach and encourage greater body awareness, flexibility and focus.

Many sporting celebrities (Ryan Giggs for example) have used Iyengar yoga to support their career in Rugby, Football and Cricket to name but 3 sports.

This class runs on termtime Thursdays at 4.30 and is taught by Zoë.

SONY DSCPlease help us get this class off the ground – tell your teenagers!

New postnatal Yoga class

SONY DSCMondays 1.45–3pm

Postnatal yoga classes offer a nurturing space to heal and regain strength after birth.

Through the yoga practise reconnect with your body, enjoy a space to rest and re-energise; and the great bit is you can bring your baby so you don’t need a babysitter.

Teenage boys class

Boys need Yoga!

SONY DSCWe’d love to set up a class suitable for teenage boys. Our popular teenager class is very girl-dominant and we think more boys may come if there is a class with more boys in it.

This class is likely to run on a Friday at 4.30 and be taught by Diana. We expect to promote it to secondary school age boys, but allow girls to attend so long as they don’t outnumber the boys!

SONY DSCWe will need a group of 5 or 6 to get it off the ground, so if you can get a few boys together, great!

It would be good to start this after Easter 2016…

What do you think? Let Jon know if you are interested.

New classes in January

Extra classes in the New Year

750005_88451749We are adding a couple of new classes to the timetable for 2016. They are likely to be quieter classes to start with, so a good opportunity for you to get some extra attention in class. It’s always good to come to a new class, as the teacher will often take the group of students through the levels together – a good journey to share!

Christmas Timetable 2015

Christmas Opening Times

Cxmastreepose-150x150lasses are running every day throughout the holiday period except on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day

The Full Yogawest timetable resumes on Saturday January 2nd 2016.

Guest Teachers

Some of our teachers are taking a well-earned break over Christmas, and recharging their batteries for the New Year. In their absence we are lucky to have some guest teachers on the timetable.

Melroy Mukwaya
Melroy has recently retired from her ‘day’ job and we’ve made the most of her availability to cover classes at Yogawest this Autumn. When she’s ready, we hope to have Melroy on the timetable on a more permanent basis.

Zoë Hope
Since qualifying as a teacher in the Autumn, Zoe has been covering classes at Yogawest, and we are hoping she will be teaching her own class at Yogawest soon. Zoë has spent many years in the Iyengar world and has studied extensively in India with the Chanchanis, consequently her teaching is mature and knowledgeable.

Paul Reilly
PaulReilly_0781_250Many of you know Paul as he used to teach in Bristol before moving to France to run retreats with his wife and family. We are pleased that he can teach four classes for us over the holiday period.
NB the 2-hour class on Thursday 31st is open to all levels and men too (during termtime it’s a women’s class).
