Yogawest Garden Spring Tidy

Yogawest garden Mar14-4Our friend Richard Hershman came and tidied up the Yogawest garden earlier in the year ready for our favourite few months of blooms and scents. We look forward to many weeks of tea on the terrace (the Moroccan Mint is growing well), enjoying the beautiful flowers to come. The cushions are now out for the summer!

Yogawesties on Gloucester Road

You may have noticed a couple of shops catering for children, just a few minutes walk from Yogawest. Moodles and Oddsox are the latest additions to the thriving area of Gloucester Road Central. Both businesses are owned by Yogawest students.

Moodles familyMoodles, owned by Sarah Ubhi, opened in January 2014 and specialises in quality children’s clothing. All the clothing is British made, echoing Sarah’s wish to minimise her carbon footprint and her concerns about working conditions in overseas factories.

Sarah’s three children (aged 12, 10 and 8, and also Yogawest students) provide valuable input to Moodles, holding positions of business adviser, creative director and buying assistant!

shop frontThe independent children’s shoe shop Oddsox was launched by friends Jo Adamson and Sarah Chope in 2012, offering quality footwear at an affordable price. With three children each, they were both aware of the need for a local alternative to the shopping mall.  Footwear sizes in Oddsox range from pre-walkers up to an adult size 8.

We wish Sarah, Jo and Sarah continued success with their retail ventures.

Yoga for health

healthWe all know that yoga is good for mental, physical and spiritual nourishment. On the Yogawest website there are a number of articles on the health benefits of a regular yoga practice.  Here are links to articles on the benefits of yoga for back pain, neck pain and depression. Share these with anyone you think would benefit from this information.

February Love Yoga Offer

Valentine Yoga Gift

SONY DSCWe all know how good yoga is for the heart, and to celebrate the month of love, we invite you to give a free yoga class to someone you love who hasn’t yet been to Yogawest: perhaps a family member, neighbour or friend. Your nominated friend can choose to come to a class (between Feb 14th and Mar 14th), or have a £15 discount off a 5-week foundation course (to be booked before Mar 31st and started before end April).

How to Get A Free Class Voucher

Email Yogawest and give us the name and email address of the person you’d like to give a Valentine Yoga Gift to. We will email them a voucher which can be redeemed at reception (no booking required for drop-in classes).

Or if you prefer the tangible, we can make you a gift voucher – ask us to leave one for you at reception to collect.

How to Redeem Your Voucher

heart-mandala4webThe free class is valid between February 14th and March 14th and is for any beginner or general class on the timetable: email us to book your place (quote your voucher number LOVE+Vxx or LOVE+EVxx ), or just turn up 10 minutes early with your voucher to register. Please bring your voucher with you when you come.

Alternatively you can use your voucher as a £15 discount off any foundation course starting before end April 2014 (must be booked before March 31st).

Which Class is Good to Come To?

All our classes are listed here and you can drop in to most of them without booking (except foundation courses). We would recommend attending a beginner class for the first visit, (one of the quieter classes is on Wednesday at 9.15am). If you are quite fit you could also come to a general class (one of the quieter ones is e.g. Friday 12.30pm). Either way, do let the teacher know you are new. Find out more about Yogawest and read FAQs here.

Thank you to our teenager class for the wonderful heart images for our February newsletter.

Well done to those of you who have been involved this year. We cannot wait to join in next time.

spread-the-wordOne of the best ways of people finding Yogawest is through reviews on the internet. We looked recently and found there are only 2 reviews of us out there, and we’d really love it if you could find 5 minutes to add one of your own.
