Re-opening plans

last updated 13 May 2021

Until things are a little clearer and we can set a date to re-open the building, all Yogawest classes remain online.

Plans for re-opening in June

Yogawest is taking a cautious approach to re-opening. Although the government have now confirmed that indoor yoga classes can re-start from 17 May (with social distancing restrictions), the very latest news about variants suggests that things are again uncertain.

We think it would be unwise to announce a date to re-open the Yogawest building until the situation is clearer. We are keeping a close eye on the news and will review how things stand at the end of May.

All being well, we will be able to announce our re-opening date during the first week of June.

In the meantime, our wonderful Yogawest teachers continue to offer daily online classes and we appreciate your ongoing support. For those that haven’t been able to join us online, we hope that you are safe and well and we look forward to welcoming you back to Yogawest when we can re-open.

Yogawest community survey

In anticipation of restarting physical classes at Yogawest when possible, we want to find out how you are feeling about returning to in-house classes.

Thank you to those that have already completed the survey: your responses and suggestions have been very helpful and are informing our plans to re-open. It is clear from the responses so far that there is an overwhelming desire to get back into the studios at Yogawest when it’s safe, possible and sensible.

If you haven’t yet responded, we’d still love to hear from you, whatever your connection to Yogawest is: current and past students and teachers, friends near and far, all feedback is welcomed.

Thank you to all

The last year has been an incredibly challenging time for all of us in many different ways, with dramatic changes in all our lives. Little did we know in March 2020 what was ahead for all of us and how much we would still be impacted going into summer 2021.

The Yogawest team of staff and teachers have faced many challenges during the last year and we thank them for their continued support and dedication to establishing the online classes and for keeping our wonderful yoga community together.

Easter Timetable 2021

While schools are on holiday over Easter, some Yogawest teachers are taking a break, and we are running a reduced timetable from 2–14 April.

See the list of Easter holiday classes below and as usual check and book your favourite classes on the online timetable.

Timetable 2–14 April

Classes are still running online at Yogawest

Online classes

Our timetabled classes are running online until 17 June 2021. In-house classes restart on 18 June. STOP PRESS We hope to offer an online ‘extra’ class option over alongside our in-house classes: watch this space for details tbc.

Please book your online class as usual in your Yogawest account: you can use your existing packs or choose to pay the full or a reduced fee.

Thank you to the wonderful Yogawest teachers who have been looking after the Yogawest community online during the pandemic: we know how challenging it has been and are full of admiration of how you have all coped and adapted and blossomed in the virtual world. It is clear that we ALL want to get back to real life classes as soon as we can!

Cost of online classes

Many of our regulars have wanted to pay for their online classes at the full class fee during the pandemic which is very much appreciated, but we do recognise that not everyone can do that, so we offer an ‘Online Reduced Rate’ class pack giving (approximately) a third off most classes.

Online class reduced rate £10 Available for classes (up to 90mins) that are usually in the studio and are run online during lockdown.

Online 2-hr class reduced rate £15 Available for classes (up to 90mins) that are usually in the studio and are run online during lockdown.

Turkey Holidays in 2018

Two Turkey Holidays in 2018!

Diana and Indira are returning to the wonderful Onuncu Koy hotel in Adrasan, Turkey for two holidays for Heliotrope in 2018.

This is the 6th year of teaching here and each time we go, students insist we re-book the slot for next year. Adrasan is an astonishingly beautiful, largely unspoilt area of Turkey, offering a stunning location, warm and welcoming small hotel, lovely walks and views.

If you haven’t yet been on a Heliotrope yoga holiday, we can’t recommend them enough: the week is beautifully constructed with 2 yoga classes a day, a gorgeous brunch with time to enjoy the beach and locality in the afternoons.

Dates

1. May 27–June 3 2018 HALF TERM!
Many teachers and term-bound parents have asked us to offer a half term holiday, so here it is! Turkey is a gorgeous place to be at the end of May: the wild flowers abound and summer is just starting.

See http://www.heliotrope-yoga-holidays.com

2. September 16–23 2018 – WOMEN’s WEEK!
Following an ‘accidental’ women week last September, many participants wanted to do it all again this year, and to keep it as a women’s week. This is a general yoga week, not particularly focusing on women’s issues, but providing a female space in which to practise together.

Turkey Holiday Sep 17–24

Yoga Holiday at Onuncu Koy, Adrasan with Diana Penny and Indira Lopez-Bassols

dianaindira_turkey2014_8149This is Indira and Diana’s fifth visit to the coastal village of Adrasan in South-West Turkey. We return every year to this calm oasis that seems a world away from the troubles in the other parts of the country, and are keen to continue supporting the lovely people that live and work here. This part of Turkey is quiet and beautiful, the local people hospitable and eager to share their gorgeous area with visitors.

Heliotrope holidays have launched a new venue in Portugal which is likely to be as popular as their Turkey venues, however when they suggested to regulars that they may reduce their weeks in Turkey, they were told in no uncertain terms that people wanted to keep on coming to Onuncu Koy!

Onuncu Koy is a beautifully situated hotel in the sleepy seaside village of Adrasan a 90 minute drive from Antalya airport on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. With spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and the sea this is an ideal place to unwind and immerse yourself in a week of yoga.

Travel to Antalya from Bristol, Gatwick and many other UK airports.

Costs start at £500: incredibly good value we think!

Note: Diana and Indira are also teaching a week at the new Portugal venue on June 3-10th 2017.

Portugal Holiday Jun 3–10

Yoga Holiday at Brejo Fundeiro with Diana Penny and Indira Lopez-Bassols

Diana and Indira have taught yoga holidays for Aidan and Sine at Heliotrope for five years and are delighted to be on the programme for their brand new venue in Portugal in June 2017.

Brejo Fundeiro is a one hundred year old, 3-storey manor house set in its own valley in a very quiet area of central Portugal that is an ideal location for a yoga retreat with the lake of Castelo de Bode nearby.

The swimming pool uses a salt water electrolysis cell system which results in very low levels of salt and chlorine.

Travel to Lisbon from Bristol, Gatwick and many other UK airports is easy, and there are beautiful places to explore in the area.

Costs start at £650.

Read full details and book your place on the Heliotrope website.

Note: By popular request, Diana and Indira are also teaching a week at the wonderful Onuncu Koy hotel in Adrasan, Turkey from September 17-24th 2017.
