Bristol Yoga Trail

yogatrail2016_bannerSaturday 1st of October 2016 – Bristol Yoga Trail

A day of FREE yoga classes in Bristol and fundraiser for the Julian Trust

Yogawest joins other studios in Bristol providing free classes on Saturday. No need to book in advance just turn up on the day (it’s first come first served so arrive early!)

At Yogawest we are running the following free classes:

9.30 – 10.45am Beginners
11.30 – 1pm General
2 – 2.45pm Family
3 – 4pm Newcomers
4.30 to 5.30pm Restorative, followed by
5.45 to 6.15 Pranayama

For regulars, make sure you arrive early to secure your place and expect the classes to be much busier than usual! NB The 9.15 Intermediate class is not part of the trail and runs as usual.

Throughout the day we will be serving tea and cake; newcomers have a chance to come and have look around, try a class, ask questions or just enjoy a cuppa.

Fundraising for Julian Trust

We are raising money for the Julian Trust an amazing local homeless charity. Donations on the day will be very gratefully received.

We hope to see you then.

5-year celebration December 3rd

Happy 5th anniversary!

SONY DSCWe are celebrating five years since we took over at Yogawest.

Much has happened here during the last five years: we have steadily added classes (there are now over 45 classes on the termtime timetable) and have an amazing team of 17 teachers and 5 admin staff. And we’ve held some brilliant events at Yogawest during that time taught by local and international teachers alike.

So, it’s time to celebrate!

5th Anniversary Celebration Party Saturday afternoon, December 3rd, 3.30-7.30pm

yogawest-openday-pose-7136We are marking the occasion by offering a celebratory class to be taught by at least five (!) Yogawest teachers, this is open to all, but please book your place for the class as we expect it to be busy.

The class will be followed by a party: a chance to catch up with fellow students and teachers in possibly a more relaxed atmosphere than in class! Let reception know if you are planning to come.

The Class, December 3rd, 3.30-5.30

The class will be based around the number five with poses, sequences, teachers appearing in variants of five. Five is a special number in yoga: many aspects of yoga philosophy involve five aspects; expect five of everything!

Places for the class are limited and are bookable at reception by a £10 charitable donation which will go to the Julian Trust, a local homeless charity.

The Party, December 3rd, 5.30–7.30

Come and celebrate our anniversary with drinks, snacks, and Winter cheer. Yogawest teachers and staff are looking forward to letting our hair down and getting to know our students a little better!

Yogacard Raffle

yogawest-gardenparty-7124We have revived our popular Yogacard raffle this year. Write your contact details on your finished Yogacard and hand it in to reception for the raffle box. The draw for some Yogawest-related prizes will take place at the party. If you prepay for a course then at the end of the course you can fill in a card to be entered for the raffle so you won’t miss out!

These offer some cover when the weather is wet and extends the number of bikes we can handle.

Childrens’ Christmas parties

Key Stage 1 and 2

Many thanks to Alex for supporting the younger children this term to produce their end of term yoga events. The littlies performed a yoga version of the Twelve Days of Christmas and the older ones devised and performed a Christmas yoga story.

2015 Arts Trail at Yogawest

Four Artists at Yogawest

SONY DSCDespite some truly dreadful weather, we hosted a marvellous set of artists at the North Bristol Arts Trail last weekend.

Four artists showed their wares in Studio 2, and a steady stream of visitors came throughout the weekend, sporting classy white overshoes, or socks to save the yoga floors from the dramatic weather outside.

And a big thank you to Jon for all his hard work in setting the exhibition up from start to finish.

Studio 2 makes a lovely art studio!
